Trivia: The Jetsons officially aired on ABC (1962–1963) for one year. I suspect cancellation was due to the fact that it was simply ahead of its time. In 1985, it was picked up for syndication for 2 more years where it became a huge success (which is how we've all come to know and love the Jetsons).

Will our FPLC be a one-year show? Are we ahead of our time? Should we cancel the show or is there material for another year (renew). Could there be a possible spin-off, instead (perhaps a more focused group or broader topic in technology)?

Anyway, below I've included a poll to determine the future of our FPLC.
PLEASE COMPLETE BY WEDNESDAY APRIL 2nd by 5PM.

If the Jetsons-FPLC continues for another year or a spin-off is suggested, please indicate your interest in participation (or becoming a facilitator):
1. Biray:participation-MAYBE, facilitator-NO (Notes: I definitely believe there's a lot more to explore in the area of using technology in teaching-learning. But my biggest concern is repetition of material. If new members come into this community next year because of their interest in using new technologies, would there be a lot of reviewing what we learned in order to catch others up to speed? Or will there be a way to re-visit some of these topics so new and returning members can benefit from the discussions and their applications? I definitely see areas where a spin-off FPLC might lead to a more focused agenda - such as blogging community, for instance. Last year's podcasting community spent a lot of time listening and talking about this one tool and I found it to be very helpful and thorough.)
2. Shelley: I too think we could either continue or spin-off. participation-likely; facilitator-maybe.
3. Greg: I only will continue if you all continue. How about Jetson's Spin to Nirvana? participate - likely (heck, did I participate that much this year?); facilitator:NWIH
4.Devon: Cannot facilitate while my wife is in college. If she weren't doing her masters, I would. I would like to continue to participate. Changed my mind. You twisted my arm. Sure.
5. Sharon: I think there are still a lot of areas to explore, but I do think that in bringing in new members we may end up repeating ourselves....if there was a more specific focus there would need to be a clear desire from enough people for it to work. As for me I will participate if my schedule allows it, but am not really interested in facilitating.
6. Steve: Sorry I missed the deadline for the poll. I was trying to finish my thesis and get it sent off. I honestly don't know if I'll be participating next year or not. It's not the group. I love us. We rock out loud. It's just that I'm done with my master's this semester, and I need to find full-time work. MCC is my first choice, but I'm realistic about my odds. If I were working at another school full-time, it might be awkward for me to continue.
